Holiday Baking with Natural Sprinkles

by Katie Wallace | Updated: November 14, 2025

One of my favorite things about the holidays is baking with my kids. We love decorating Christmas cookies, dipping chocolate truffles, and making cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. I also enjoy the challenge of homemade macarons because they’re a sweet reward when they turn out beautifully. Decorating our treats is always the most fun, and this year we’re using Supernatural Sprinkles. These colorful and festive natural sprinkles make the holidays a little more sweet!

These natural sprinkles for baking are completely free of artificial dyes, soy, palm oil, and GMOs, which makes them a healthier alternative to traditional sprinkles. These “hundreds and thousands” come in creative blends with whimsical names like Great Big Blizzard, Into The Woods, and Ugly Christmas Sweater. Each natural sprinkle mix has a fun variety of shapes and colors that instantly brighten cookies, cakes, and holiday goodies.

Natural Sprinkles for Baking

When I opened my holiday collection from Supernatural Sprinkles, my girls and I couldn’t wait to try them. I sprinkled a few on a batch of homemade macarons, and they added the perfect festive touch. These natural sprinkles have a light sweetness and a faint veggie-based aroma from the natural dyes, which I don’t mind. They’re playful, vibrant, and an easy way to make holiday baking feel special.

I can’t wait to use these natural sprinkles for baking on our upcoming batches of cookies, bars, and birthday treats. A dash of Into The Woods adds just the right pop of color to vanilla cream macarons, and I love how each blend gives homemade desserts a dreamy, whimsical look.

Holiday baking is one of the ways our family brings joy to the season. My kids help mix the dough and decorate cookies with colorful sprinkles before we deliver plates of treats to neighbors and friends. Good food has a way of bringing people together, and these Supernatural Sprinkles make the experience even more fun.

Giftable Treats

Holiday treats are one of my favorite ways to bring a little joy into the season. I usually make several different goodies for Christmas. My kids love jumping in to help mix cookie dough and decorate with sprinkles. In addition to decorating, these Supernatural Sprinkles sets are perfect gifts for anyone who loves to create edible art in the kitchen.

For me, baking is a special way to create holiday memories and share homemade treats with my family. I love experimenting with color, flavor, and simple designs when I decorate cookies. I started making macarons one snowy winter when we were stuck at home, and after a few batches I figured out the technique. Once you learn the basics, you can make perfect homemade macarons in any color or flavor you’d like. Add natural sprinkles for a festive touch! These macarons look especially pretty with a pop of bright, food-based color on top.

Love to make giftable treats? I’d love to hear what your family enjoys baking during the holidays!

Love these!! My son loves sprinkles on everything … he always asks for them on his desserts and his hot cocoa. Especially this time of year, it’s sprinkles on everything! I typically have to drive over to Whole Foods to find the ones without artificial dyes, but I think it… Read more »

Cerrado los lunes! 😟☀️ We showed up at the zoo onl Cerrado los lunes! 😟☀️ We showed up at the zoo only to discover it was closed on Mondays.

Thankfully, our family has gotten pretty good at pivoting when plans change. Instead of heading home, we set off on a mile-long walk to Centro Histórico Mérida and turned an unexpected detour into an adventure.

We explored local markets, enjoyed tacos and sopa de lima for lunch, and let the kids burn off energy at a park. The Mérida heat definitely called for a treat, so we stopped for fruit bars that cost just 40 pesos (about $2.50) each. We made it home just in time for Juliet’s nap!

Next time, we’ll check the zoo schedule before we go. But honestly, this unexpected change of plans turned into a pretty great day!

✨ Takeaways:

• Travel helps build resilient kids. When plans change, they learn to adapt, stay positive, and enjoy the adventure anyway.

• Some of our best experiences happen when things don’t go as planned. The zoo will still be there another day! 🦓🐊🦛

• We’re growing in Spanish every day. The kids are becoming more confident with pronunciation, casual phrases, and new vocabulary as we navigate life in Mexico.

💬 What do you want to know about our life in Mexico?

Hola from Mérida! 🇲🇽☀️ Our first week has been cha Hola from Mérida! 🇲🇽☀️ Our first week has been challenging and rewarding as we settle into life in Mexico with our 4 kids!

• We’re finding our new normal, discovering favorite stores, trying grocery delivery, getting used to air-drying clothes and doing dishes (no clothes dryer or dishwasher).

 • We’ve almost finished all steps for receiving our family’s permanent residency cards. Praying for successful completion!

 • Also experiencing frequent tropical afternoon downpours, magnificent and soaking! 🌴

 • Being without city water for 20 hours, which impacted washing dishes and taking showers. We used our rooftop water tank sparingly.

 • House hunting & touring several long term rental houses; we hope to find a good fit for our stay-at-home lifestyle and hosting too!

I keep reminding myself that we moved here! We’re not just visiting for a few weeks. 🤯😄

Overall, we’re grateful. ☀️🙂 It’s been a good first week, and we’re excited to continue settling in and discovering what life in Mérida has in store for our family!
